beauty is in the swagger of the beholden
So I watched Euphoria.
It's frustratingly addictive, despite the sometimes unsatisfying storytelling. The actors, set design, and production of this show really make up for the lack of plot structure though.
As someone who tends to fall in love with characters from movies and TV shows, I find it extremely compelling when there's an obvious discordance between who we "should" find attractive were we to meet them in real life, and who we find attractive based on the storyline we've been witness to.
I don't know that I'd ever want to talk to Fezco, if I ever met him in real life. Conversely, I am sure I would have found Nate attractive from afar--guys like that never really talked to me in high school, so it would be from far far far away. And it's hard to argue that Cassie, portrayed by the gorgeous Sydney Sweeney, isn,t also well, gorgeous.
But I adore Fezco. And Ethan!! Elliot! Lexi!
There's something so attractive about modest confidence--the silent confidence that people carry themselves with, when they truly don't give a rat's ass about what the world thinks of them
I want that
