I was watching an episode of Cosmos with Tom the other night and the whole thing was about Michael Faraday and harnessing electromagnetism to make inanimate objects animate at human whim. I hadn't really thought about carrier pigeons much before then, but did you know that homing pigeons have an innate ability to find their way back to their home nest through magnetoreception? They're literally like little flying compass magnets
All you have to do to get a pigeon to deliver your message from say Alabaster to Birmingham, is to find a homing pigeon that has a nest in Birmingham, pick it up and drive it to Alabaster and let it hang out there, and then when you're ready to send a message to someone in Birmingham just tie your handwritten note with some pretty ribbon to the pigeon's leg and set it free and it will fly back to its nest in Birmingham!! And your recipient will go over to its nest to retrieve the message, kinda like how Amazon Lockers work
But it kinda just got me thinking...do you think we have the innate ability to revert back to who were are supposed to be? Is it okay that I haven't felt like myself since this darn pandemic started?...and I honestly don't even know where to begin
but i guess it's hard to be a homing pigeon, if you don't really have a home
