i am cool and very chill

I have a massive girl crush on this girl in my dance class. she's tall and has pretty blonde highlights running through her otherwise dark haired head and she's got a nose ring that's not actually on her nose, but like right underneath it...the mustache area which usually causes me such turmoil.

Indian people are very hairy okay, and when I was in elementary school i had a very apparent mustache apparently

this girl who sat in front of me in math class made fun of me for it, and my really sweet friend shelbie was like "Girl stop; it's because of her religion..she has to have that mustache; her parents made her"

and I'm like "YEAH BACK OFF WOMAN"

...well no actually. I was a tiny puny kid with braces and fat glasses...so I just stared at her.

and then I whispered to shelbie that it wasn't my religion and that I can't really help it, indian people are very furry

and then she said "I have a bunny, two dogs and three cats; I like furry animals"

Thankfully, I have learned the subtle art of hair removal over the years, and I don't think I'm as furry today as I was when I was 9.

I mean, I'm also losing a lot of hair throughout this PhD thing, but that's a different story, for a different blog post.

So anyways this girl in my dance class--she's so nice. She teaches Ashtanga yoga somewhere, and she asked me about where I grew up and if I've adjusted to Birmingham, and if I've found an Indian community here and if I'm happy

Like super deep stuff for someone you've just met...but I don't know. There are some people you meet in your life that you connect with almost instantly. I can't explain it--you catch their eyes and their smiles and it's over. You just pour your heart out; there's this compulsive urge to just tell them everything about yourself 

And then I went to get a coffee and the barista was like

"I really like your spirit; you seem really chill"

and like...no one has ever said that to me. I am the least chill person I know. 

So idk if its the dancing or this really cool yoga under-nose ring girl or what

but today, I have a really cool spirit and I'm super chill

so if you must interact with me at least once in your life

today would be the day i think
